Guide Recommendations - Once your frog lands, let the ripples dissipate for 30-60 seconds (it feels like an eternity every time), but make sure to stay ready. Try to slow down your retrieve, and try to avoid stripping in a rhythm. Most importantly, always strip set. In case of a miss, slightly increase your strip cadence, and stay ready for another surface explosion!

We recommend an 7- to 8-weight as our go-to for casting and fishing these in most conditions. On calm days, a fast 6-weight can suffice.
